Litres used are (distance / 100) × L/100 km. Total cost is litres × price per litre. Each person pays total ÷ people. 40 km at 7 L/100 km and 1.80 per litre is 5.04 total; three people pay 1.68 each. Distance can be kilometres (km) or miles (mi); consumption stays litres per 100 km. Parking and tolls are extra.

L/100 km: Consumption in litres per 100 kilometres.
Price per litre: Pump price per litre.
People: How many share the cost, not zero.
Total: Fuel cost for the trip.
