Who we are

Nuumia is a free catalog of calculators at nuumia.com. We do not create user accounts or server-side profiles.

Calculations stay on your device

Every calculator runs in your browser. The numbers you type, the units you pick, and the results you see are computed locally. We do not receive that data as part of running a calculation.

What stays on your device

We set a first-party cookie named nuumia-locale (path /, SameSite=Lax, about one year). It stores the language so the next visit can open in the same language. The site also sets this cookie when you land on a page, not only when you change language in settings. It is not an advertising cookie.

This browser may also keep, in localStorage: theme, sound on or off, favorite calculators, recently opened calculators, and a local count of which calculators you opened on this device. Session storage may keep the current search and category while you move around in the same tab.

None of that storage is uploaded to us. Clearing site data in the browser removes it.

Analytics: Umami

On the public site we load Umami’s tracker from cloud.umami.is. That is Umami Software’s hosted Cloud product, not a copy we host ourselves.

Umami’s documentation says the tracking code does not use cookies, that visitors are not identified, and that they are not tracked across websites. By default Umami records page views, referrer URLs, browser, operating system, device type, and country of origin. They describe the data as anonymized. Their own notice is at https://umami.is/privacy

We turn the script on only in production (not on localhost). We tell it to drop URL query strings and hashes, so values you put in a calculator link are not sent to Umami. We do not send custom events such as button clicks.

How long Umami keeps that data is set by Umami. We do not operate their servers.

Hosting: Vercel

The website is hosted on Vercel. When your browser asks for a page, Vercel must receive the request in order to send the app back. That typically includes technical data such as IP address, user-agent, timestamps, and similar connection metadata. Vercel may keep operational logs and apply DDoS protection.

We do not use Vercel Web Analytics or Speed Insights.

Domain: Cloudflare

We registered the nuumia.com domain with Cloudflare and use Cloudflare for DNS. Requests may also pass through Cloudflare’s network when their DNS or proxy is in the path. In those cases Cloudflare processes connection data as described in their policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

What we do not collect

We do not ask for a name, email, or password to use the calculators. We do not take payments. We do not run advertising pixels. We do not sell lists of visitors.

If you email us, we will have whatever you put in that message, so we can reply.

Shared calculator links

If you copy a calculator link, the numbers you typed can sit in the URL. Anyone with that link can see them. Do not share links that contain private figures. Those query strings are excluded from Umami, but sharing the link is still your choice.

Your choices

You can change language, theme, and sound in settings, or clear cookies and site storage in the browser. An ad blocker or similar tool may block the Umami script; the calculators still run.

If you want to know what we hold about you, write to help@nuumia.com. We cannot look up an individual in Umami the way a named account would work. Vercel and Cloudflare logs are operational and time-limited; we are not able to promise a full copy of every request log.

Vercel, Umami, and Cloudflare are companies that may process data in the United States and other countries. Using the public site means that technical traffic goes through those providers so the site can load.
