Calculate the volume, surface area, and space diagonal of a cube from one edge length.
| Volume | – |
| Surface | – |
| Space diagonal | – |
Use this calculator to find the volume, total surface area, and space diagonal of a cube from a single edge length. All twelve edges of a cube are equal, and all faces are squares.
The formulas are: volume = a³, surface area = 6 a², and space diagonal = a √3. The space diagonal runs from one corner through the interior to the opposite corner. The face diagonal, which stays on one square face, is a √2 and is not shown here.
Use the same length unit throughout. Volume is in that unit cubed and surface area in that unit squared.
Side: Length of one edge of the cube.
Volume: The space enclosed by the cube, a³.
Surface: The total area of the six square faces, 6 a².
Space diagonal: The interior corner-to-corner distance, a √3.
