Use this calculator to buy curtain fabric before you sew or order panels.
Fabric width is window width × fullness. Cut drop is finished hanging length plus hem and header. A 140 cm window at 2× fullness wants 280 cm of width. A 220 cm drop plus 20 cm hem is 240 cm. For a pair of panels, split the width. Lengths can be centimetres (cm) or inches (in); the results use the same unit.
Window width: Finished window width, in cm or in.
Window drop: Finished hanging length.
Fullness: Gather factor, often 1.5 to 2.5.
Hem: Extra for hem and header.
Fabric width: Total width to buy or cut.
Cut drop: Length along the drop including hem.
