Calculate the entropy change when a known reversible heat is exchanged at a fixed temperature.
| ΔS (J/K) | – |
Use this calculator for thermo problems: melting, boiling, or a reversible isothermal heat, when you need ΔS.
ΔS = q_rev / T, with T in kelvin. Enter temperature in °C or °F; the calculator converts to kelvin. q in joules gives ΔS in J/K. Temperature must be above −273.15 °C. This is for reversible heat only, not for irreversible processes.
q reversible (J): Reversible heat in joules. Fusion of 1 mol ice is about 6000 J.
Temperature: Temperature of that heat, in °C or °F. Ice melt is 0 °C; water boil is 100 °C.
ΔS (J/K): Entropy change in J/K.
