About this calculator

Use this calculator when you premix two-stroke fuel for a saw, a trimmer, or a small outboard.

Oil (ml) = (petrol litres × 1000) / ratio. 5 L at 50:1 needs 100 ml of oil. The ratio is parts petrol per 1 part oil by volume. Petrol can be litres (L) or gallons (gal); oil is millilitres (ml) or fluid ounces (fl oz) in the same system. Premix cans already include oil; do not add twice.

Petrol: Volume of petrol to mix, in L or gal.

Ratio: Parts petrol per 1 part oil, for example 50.

Oil: Oil to add.
