GDP Calculator

Use this GDP calculator for the textbook expenditure identity. Net exports can be negative. Figures can be in billions if you keep every input on that scale, including last-period GDP and population.

GDP = C + I + G + NX. Per capita = GDP ÷ population. Growth % = 100 × (GDP − last) ÷ last. Last-period GDP must be positive.

C: Household consumption.

I: Gross investment (including inventories and capital formation).

G: Government spending on goods and services (not transfers).

NX: Exports minus imports (can be negative).

Population: People for the per-capita figure (same units you want, e.g. millions).

Last-period GDP: GDP in the previous year or quarter, same units as C+I+G+NX.

GDP: The expenditure-side total.

Per capita: GDP divided by population.

Growth (%): Percent change versus last period.
