About this calculator

Use this calculator when you measured stock and diluent and want the ratio written as 10 : 90 plus the concentrate fraction.

The calculation is ratio = concentrate : diluent using those amounts, and fraction = concentrate / (concentrate + diluent). Use the same unit in both boxes, millilitres or grams; the numbers are treated as parts, not converted.

This is a parts ratio only. It does not compute C1V1 volumes or a serial-dilution factor; use Dilution for that.

Concentrate parts: Volume or mass of the concentrated reagent, for example 10 mL.

Diluent parts: Volume or mass of water or diluent, for example 90 mL.

Ratio: Concentrate to diluent as entered, for example 10 : 90.

Concentrate fraction: Concentrate divided by the total, 0.1 for a 10 + 90 mix.
