Moles of B

About this calculator

Use this calculator for stoichiometry: the equation says 2 A → 1 B and you weighed A.

The calculation is moles B = moles A × (coeff B / coeff A). This is the theoretical amount of B, not a percent yield.

It does not identify the limiting reagent among several reactants; enter the species you are scaling from as A.

Moles of A: Moles of species A you have, grams divided by molar mass.

Coefficient of A: Coefficient of A in the balanced equation. 2 in 2 H2 + O2.

Coefficient of B: Coefficient of B. 1 if B has no written number.

Moles of B: Theoretical moles of B from that ratio.
