About this calculator

Use this NPV calculator for a project with different amounts each year. Paste the cash flows in order; the first number is today (usually the investment, negative). A positive NPV means the project beats your hurdle rate.

Each amount at time t is divided by (1 + rate)^t. The first flow is t = 0 (undiscounted). NPV is the sum. Type 10 for a 10% yearly discount rate. The rate must be greater than −100%. Amounts may be separated by commas, spaces, or semicolons.

Discount rate (%): Yearly hurdle or discount rate as a percent.

Cash flows (t=0 first): Amounts in order. First is t = 0 (today). Negatives are money out.

NPV: Net present value of the list at the chosen rate.
