Use this overtime calculator for time-and-a-half (or another multiplier) on hours above the regular block. It is a gross-pay sketch: no tax, no night/weekend premiums, no daily OT rules.
Regular = hourly × regular hours. Overtime = hourly × OT multiplier × OT hours. Gross = regular + overtime. Type 1.5 for time-and-a-half. Hourly rate must be positive.
Hourly rate: Straight-time wage per hour.
Regular hours: Hours paid at the straight rate, often 40 in a week.
OT hours: Hours paid at the overtime rate.
OT multiplier: 1.5 for time-and-a-half, 2 for double time.
Regular: Pay for the regular hours.
Overtime: Pay for the OT hours.
Gross: Regular plus overtime.
