About this calculator

Use this raise calculator when you have an offer or a review number and want the new salary plus how much buying power actually moved after inflation. It is not a tax calculator.

New pay = current × (1 + raise%). Real raise% = 100 × ((1 + raise%) ÷ (1 + inflation%) − 1), the Fisher-style adjustment. Type 5 for a 5% raise and 2 for 2% inflation. If inflation is −100%, real raise is reported as 0.

Current pay: Salary or wage before the raise, in your currency.

Raise (%): The nominal increase as a percent, e.g. 5 for 5%.

Inflation (%): Price-level change over the same horizon, e.g. 2 for 2%.

New pay: Pay after the nominal raise.

Real raise (%): Raise after stripping inflation.
