Use this before loading people, fuel, and cargo. Payload = GVWR − curb weight. 3500 kg GVWR and 2100 kg curb leaves 1400 kg. Enter both masses in the same unit (kg or lb); the result follows. Legal plates, axle limits, and tongue weight are separate. Curb is often the empty vehicle; some makers include fluids, some do not.
GVWR: Gross vehicle weight rating, the maximum allowed total mass.
Curb: Empty (or typical) vehicle mass.
Payload: What you can still add. Curb cannot exceed GVWR.
