About this calculator

Use this pivot-point calculator on the previous session’s high, low, and close (daily is typical) to sketch support and resistance for the next session. These are geometric levels, not a forecast. High must be at least as large as low.

Pivot P = (high + low + close) / 3. R1 = 2P − low. S1 = 2P − high. R2 = P + (high − low). S2 = P − (high − low). Fib 38.2% = high − 0.382 × range. Fib 61.8% = high − 0.618 × range, with range = high − low.

High: Previous session high.

Low: Previous session low.

Close: Previous session close.

Pivot (P): The central pivot.

R1 / S1: First resistance and support.

R2 / S2: Second resistance and support (pivot plus or minus the range).

Fib 38.2% / 61.8%: Retracements measured down from the high.
