Volume

About this calculator

Use this calculator to find the volume of a pyramid with a rectangular base. Enter the two base sides and the perpendicular height from the apex down to the base. A square pyramid is the special case where length and width are equal.

The formula is volume = (length × width × height) / 3, which is one third of the corresponding rectangular box. Height is the perpendicular drop from the apex to the base, not the slant of a triangular face.

Use the same length unit for all three inputs. Volume is then in that unit cubed. Surface area is not calculated here.

Base length: One side of the rectangular base.

Base width: The other side of the rectangular base.

Height: Perpendicular height from the apex to the base.

Volume: The space enclosed by the pyramid, l w h / 3.
