Use this calculator in biology or food chemistry when you ran the reaction at two bath temperatures and want Q₁₀.
The calculation is Q₁₀ = (k₂/k₁)^(10 / (T₂ − T₁)). Temperatures may be entered in °C or °F; they are converted to °C before the difference is taken, so a 10 °C span is still a 10 °C span. A value near 2–3 is common for enzyme-like processes. Use the same rate unit for k₁ and k₂.
This is the two-point Q10 definition. It does not fit an Arrhenius Ea or assume a constant Q10 outside the measured interval.
Rate at T1: Rate at the first temperature, any unit, for example 0.12 min⁻¹.
Rate at T2: Rate at the second temperature, same unit.
T1: First temperature in °C or °F.
T2: Second temperature in °C or °F. Must differ from T1.
Q10: Factor by which the rate multiplies per 10 °C.
