About this calculator

Use this ROI calculator for a simple round trip: you spent an amount (investment) and later received proceeds (return). It is not annualised and does not adjust for time or risk. If investment is zero, ROI is reported as 0.

Profit = return − investment. ROI% = 100 × profit ÷ investment. “Return” here is the ending proceeds, not the gain by itself. Keep both amounts in the same currency.

Investment: What you put in.

Return: What you got back (sale proceeds, payout, or ending value).

ROI (%): Profit as a percent of investment.

Profit: Return minus investment. Can be negative.
