Compute simple interest and the total owed from principal, annual rate, and years.

| Total | – |
Use this simple-interest calculator for a loan or deposit that does not compound: interest is only on the original principal. Compound interest is a different page.
Interest = principal × rate × years. Total = principal + interest. Type 5 for a 5% annual rate. Years can be a fraction (0.5 for six months). Currency is whatever you enter for principal.
Principal: The amount lent or deposited, in your currency.
Rate (%): Annual simple rate as a percent, e.g. 5 for 5%.
Years: Time the money is outstanding, in years.
Interest: Simple interest accrued.
Total: Principal plus interest.
