Stefan-Boltzmann Law Calculator

Find radiated power P = ε σ A T⁴, as if the surroundings were at 0 K.

Power (W)

About this calculator

Use this calculator for grey-body thermal radiation: P = ε σ A T⁴ with σ ≈ 5.67×10⁻⁸ W/(m²·K⁴). T is kelvin. ε = 1 is a blackbody; a grey body uses ε between 0 and 1.

This is emitted power if the surroundings are at 0 K. Real net heat also subtracts σ A T_env⁴ from the environment. Emissivity cannot exceed 1.

Area (m²): Radiating surface area, in square metres.

T (K): Surface temperature in kelvin, greater than zero.

ε: Emissivity, from 0 to 1.

Power (W): Radiated power in watts.
