About this calculator

Use this calculator to plan a time-lapse: how many frames you will shoot and how long the clip will play. Enter real duration in minutes, seconds between frames, and playback fps.

Frames = real minutes × 60 / interval. Clip seconds = frames / fps. 60 real minutes at a 5 s interval is 720 frames; at 24 fps the clip is 30 s. Battery, flicker, and storage are field problems, not this arithmetic.

Real (min): How long you shoot, in minutes.

Interval (s): Seconds between frames.

Playback fps: Playback frame rate.

Frames: Number of stills.

Clip (s): Playback duration in seconds.
