Use this calculator for an acid–base or redox titration when you know titrant strength and both volumes.
The calculation is N_analyte = (N_titrant × V_titrant × n) / V_analyte. Volumes may be entered in millilitres (mL) or fluid ounces (fl oz); both are converted to millilitres so the ratio is preserved. Use n-factor 1 for HCl versus NaOH; use 2 if you want molarity of H₂SO₄ titrated to sulfate.
This is the equivalent-balance formula. It does not locate the endpoint or apply a blank correction.
Titrant N or M: Titrant normality (or molarity if n will be 1), 0.100 for a standard acid.
Titrant volume: Titrant volume at endpoint, in mL or fl oz.
Analyte volume: Analyte (flask) volume, same volume unit as the titrant.
Equivalent factor n: Equivalents per mole of analyte. 1 for HCl; 2 for H₂SO₄ to sulfate.
Analyte N or M: Analyte normality, or molarity when n = 1.
