Estimate megabytes and gibibytes from average bitrate and duration.
| MB | – |
| GiB | – |
Use this calculator to size a video file from an average total bitrate and running time. Enter megabits per second and minutes.
Size in MB = bitrate (Mbps) × minutes × 60 / 8. GiB = MB / 1024. 8 Mbps for 60 minutes is 3600 MB (about 3.516 GiB). Audio is inside that bitrate if you enter a total rate. Container overhead is small and ignored.
This is an average-rate sketch, not a VBR encode predictor.
Mbps: Average total bitrate in megabits per second.
Minutes: Running time.
MB: Estimated size in megabytes (decimal, bits/8).
GiB: Same size divided by 1024.
