Use this for a typing test or a reading check. WPM = words ÷ minutes. 400 words in 2 minutes is 200 WPM. Typing tests often count five characters as a word. Reading WPM uses the same ratio with a page’s word count. Minutes must be greater than zero.
Words: How many words were produced or read.
Minutes: Elapsed minutes.
WPM: Words per minute.
