Use this calculator to obtain the absolute neutrophil count. WBC is entered as the lab prints it in thousands per microlitre: 6 means 6 000/µl. ANC = WBC × 1000 × (neutrophils% + bands%) / 100, in cells/µl. If the lab does not report bands, enter 0.
This is not a fever-and-neutropenia protocol and not a differential diagnosis.
WBC: White-cell count as printed, ×10³/µl.
Neutrophils: Segmented neutrophils, percent.
Bands: Band neutrophils, percent.
ANC: Absolute neutrophil count per microlitre.
