Sum the three WHO AUDIT-C alcohol questions, each scored 0–4.
| AUDIT-C | – |
Use this calculator to add the three AUDIT-C items: drinking frequency, typical number of drinks, and binge frequency. Each item is 0–4. Full AUDIT has ten items; CAGE is a different four-question screen. A score is a screen, not a diagnosis.
Usual adult cut-offs often cited are ≥4 in men and ≥3 in women; follow the protocol you use.
How often: How often you drink, 0 never to 4 four or more times a week.
How many: Drinks on a typical drinking day, 0–4 scale.
Binge: How often six or more drinks, 0–4.
AUDIT-C: Sum of the three items (0–12).
