Use this calculator to measure shooting efficiency from a single box-score line. Enter field goals made, three-pointers made, field-goal attempts, total points, and free-throw attempts.
Effective field-goal percentage (eFG%) is (field goals made + 0.5 × three-pointers made) ÷ field-goal attempts, then shown as a percentage. It credits extra for made threes because they are worth more than twos. True shooting percentage (TS%) is points ÷ [2 × (field-goal attempts + 0.44 × free-throw attempts)], also shown as a percentage, so free throws count. Around 55% eFG and 58% TS is a strong modern volume-scorer sketch.
These are efficiency rates for the numbers you enter, not usage rate, plus-minus, or a defensive metric. Three-pointers made should already be included in field goals made, as they are in a real box score.
