Calculate adult body-mass index from weight and height, with the usual WHO bands.

| Band | – |
Use this calculator to obtain BMI = weight ÷ height², with weight in kilograms and height in metres. Adult bands here are under 18.5 underweight, 18.5–24.9 healthy range, 25–29.9 overweight, and 30+ obesity. They do not replace a clinical exam and they misfire for many athletes and older adults. Children need age-and-sex percentiles, not this chart.
Weight can be entered in kilograms (kg) or pounds (lb). Height can be entered in centimetres (cm) or inches (in); the calculator converts both before the formula.
Weight: Body weight, in kg or lb.
Height: Standing height, in cm or in.
BMI: Body-mass index in kg/m².
Band: WHO adult band for that BMI.
