Use this calculator for CHA2DS2-VASc. Congestive heart failure, hypertension, diabetes, and vascular disease each add 1. Prior stroke, TIA, or thromboembolism adds 2. Age 65–74 adds 1; age 75 or more adds 2. Female sex adds 1. A score is not a prescription to anticoagulate. Confirm definitions with the paper you use.
Age: Years. 65–74 and 75+ add different points.
Sex: Female adds one point.
Heart failure: History of heart failure.
Hypertension: Hypertension.
Diabetes: Diabetes.
Prior stroke/TIA: Prior stroke, TIA, or embolism (2 points if yes).
Vascular disease: MI, aortic plaque, or PAD.
Score: CHA2DS2-VASc total.
