Estimate kWh and kg CO₂e from a count of transactions and the energy and grid factors you type.
| kWh | – |
| kg CO₂e | – |
Use this calculator when a network or a wallet quote gives energy per transaction and you want a carbon sketch for a batch of txs.
The calculation is: kWh = transactions × kWh per tx. kg CO₂e = kWh × kg per kWh. The default 0.03 kWh/tx is a light, proof-of-stake-scale figure, not Bitcoin mining. The default 0.4 kg/kWh is a mixed-grid ballpark.
This is not a full protocol LCA. Layer-2 batching, idle hardware, and country of mining change the picture a lot.
Transactions: How many txs you want to total.
kWh / tx: Electricity attributed to one transaction.
kg CO₂e / kWh: Grid carbon of that electricity.
kWh: Electricity for the batch.
kg CO₂e: Carbon of that electricity.
