Estimate litres wasted from a leaky tap from drop rate and how many days it runs.
| Litres | – |
Use this calculator for a dripping kitchen or bathroom tap when you can count drops in a minute.
The calculation is: litres = drops per minute × 0.05 ml per drop × 1,440 minutes per day × days / 1,000. The 0.05 ml drop is a typical faucet-drop volume; real drops vary. The result is shown in litres (L) or gallons (gal).
This is wasted water volume, not a bill (prices differ) and not a mould-risk model.
Drops / minute: How many drops you count in 60 seconds. 10 is a slow drip.
Days: How long the leak runs.
Litres: Water wasted over that period.
