Miter Angle Calculator

Find the miter and complementary bevel for a regular polygonal frame.

Miter (°)
Bevel (°)

About this calculator

Use this calculator to set a miter saw for a closed frame with equal sides, such as a picture frame, a regular polygon, or a box with n corners.

Miter angle = 180° ÷ number of sides. Bevel here is the complement 90° − miter, which is the leftover to a square cut. A square frame (4 sides) miters at 45°. There are no length inputs; only the side count matters.

This is a regular-polygon miter. It does not compound a crown-molding spring angle, and it is not a non-equal-sided frame.

Sides: Number of equal sides in the closed shape. Use 4 for a rectangle or square frame, 6 for a hexagon.

Miter: Saw miter setting in degrees.

Bevel: Complement of the miter in degrees (90° minus miter).
