Estimate litres of mortar from wall area and a usage rate in litres per square metre.
| Volume | – |
Use this calculator to order brick or block mortar when you already know a litres-per-m² rate for the bond and joint. Enter the wall area and that rate.
Litres = wall area × litres per m². Area can be entered in square metres (m²) or square feet (ft²). The rate stays in L/m². Volume is shown in litres (L) or gallons (gal).
This does not mix sand and cement for you, and it does not add waste. Typical facing brickwork is often around 30–40 L/m² depending on joint and brick.
Wall area: Wall face, in m² or ft².
Rate (L/m²): Mortar volume per square metre of wall.
Volume: Mortar volume in litres or gallons.
