Use this calculator to order pavers and bedding sand for a rectangular patio. Enter the area, the face area of one paver, and the sand depth.
Pavers = area ÷ paver face. Sand volume (m³) = area × (depth ÷ 100). Area and paver face can be entered in square metres (m²) or square feet (ft²). Sand depth can be entered in centimetres (cm) or inches (in). Sand volume stays in cubic metres.
This does not add joint sand, base gravel, or waste. A typical bedding bed is often 3–5 cm.
Area: Patio area, in m² or ft².
Paver face: Face area of one paver, in m² or ft².
Sand depth: Bedding thickness, in cm or in.
Pavers: Estimated paver count.
