Estimate the corpulence (ponderal) index as weight divided by height cubed.
| Ponderal (kg/m³) | – |
Use this calculator for PI = weight ÷ height³, with weight in kilograms and height in metres (the cube of stature). It is a cousin of BMI sometimes used in neonates and in older anthropometry papers. Adult BMI remains the usual chart. This is not a body-fat scan.
Weight can be entered in kilograms (kg) or pounds (lb). Height can be entered in centimetres (cm) or inches (in); the calculator converts both before the formula.
Weight: Body weight, in kg or lb.
Height: Standing height, in cm or in.
Ponderal: Corpulence index in kg/m³.
