Estimate the travel of a rolling pipe offset from spread, advance, and fitting angle.
| Travel | – |
Use this calculator for a rolling offset in pipe. Enter the spread (offset to the side), the advance (offset forward), and the fitting angle (often 45° or 60°).
Travel = √(spread² + advance²) / sin(angle). Spread, advance, and travel can be entered or shown in millimetres (mm) or inches (in). Angle is in degrees from the run of the pipe.
This is a single rolling offset. It does not add fitting takeout or a second roll.
Spread: Sideways offset, in mm or in.
Advance: Forward offset, in mm or in.
Fitting angle (°): Elbow angle, often 45 or 60.
Travel: Centre-to-centre travel of the offset.
