Estimate net siding area from wall length, height, openings, and waste.
| Net area | – |
Use this calculator to order vinyl, clapboard, or other siding. Enter wall length, wall height, the area of openings to subtract, and a waste percent.
Net area = max(0, length × height − openings) × (1 + waste ÷ 100). Length and height can be entered in metres (m) or feet (ft). Openings and the result can be entered or shown in square metres (m²) or square feet (ft²).
This is a single rectangular wall. It does not add starter strip, corners, or a second elevation unless you add them into length or openings.
Length: Wall length, in m or ft.
Height: Wall height, in m or ft.
Openings: Combined door and window area to subtract, in m² or ft².
Waste (%): Extra percent for cuts, often 10.
Net area: Order area including waste.
