A box is length × width × height. A cylinder and a pipe are π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × length. A sphere is (4/3) π r³ from the diameter. Length, width, height, and diameter can be entered in metres (m) or feet (ft). Volume in litres is also shown in gallons (gal) by the unit selector. Cubic metres stay in m³. Unused dimensions for the shape you picked are ignored by the formula; they still need a number because the fields are required, so leave a dummy positive value.
This is a geometric fill volume. It does not deduct freeboard, fittings, or dish ends, and it is not a calibrated tank chart.
Shape: Box for a rectangular tank, cylinder or pipe for a round tank or run, sphere for a ball.
Length: Box length, or the axial length of a cylinder or pipe, in m or ft. Unused for a sphere.
Width: Box width, in m or ft. Unused for round shapes.
Height: Box height, in m or ft. Unused for cylinder, pipe, and sphere.
Diameter: Diameter for cylinder, pipe, or sphere, in m or ft. Unused for a box.
