Use this calculator for a weight-class sketch of lifespan, not a breed table. Care, genetics, and mix dominate; giant breeds tend to live shorter lives than toys.
Typical lifespan bands by adult weight: under 10 kg about 14 years, under 25 kg about 12.5 years, under 40 kg about 11 years, otherwise about 9 years. Remaining years subtract current age and stop at zero. Enter adult weight in kilograms (kg) or pounds (lb); the calculator converts to kilograms before applying the bands.
