Simplify a fraction to lowest terms and show its decimal value.
| Simplified numerator | – |
| Simplified denominator | – |
| Decimal | – |
Use this calculator to reduce a fraction n/d by dividing numerator and denominator by their greatest common divisor (GCD). The decimal is the unsimplified ratio n ÷ d, which equals the simplified ratio as well.
The denominator must be a positive integer (at least 1). The numerator may be negative; the sign stays on the simplified numerator. 4/8 becomes 1/2; 15/25 becomes 3/5.
This page only simplifies one fraction. To add, subtract, multiply, or divide two fractions, use the fraction-operations calculator.
Numerator: Top of the fraction (may be negative).
Denominator: Bottom of the fraction, an integer ≥ 1.
