Use this calculator for a logarithm in any positive base other than 1, and for the matching power base^x. Common log is base 10; natural log is base e ≈ 2.71828; log₂ is base 2. Change of base is already log(x) / log(b).
The calculations are: log = ln(x) / ln(base), and antilog = base^x. The same x is the argument of the log and the exponent of the antilog: log₁₀(100) = 2 while 10^100 is the antilog of that same 100. Both x and the base must be positive; the base cannot be 1.
Value: Argument of the log, and exponent of the antilog.
Base: 10 for common log, about 2.71828 for ln, 2 for log₂.
log_b(x): Logarithm of x in that base.
b^x: Antilog, base raised to x.
