Passer rating

About this calculator

Use this calculator to compute the official NFL passer rating from a passing line. Enter pass attempts, completions, passing yards, touchdown passes, and interceptions.

Four pieces are each clipped between 0 and 2.375: completion percentage ((completions ÷ attempts) − 0.3) × 5; yards per attempt ((yards ÷ attempts) − 3) × 0.25; touchdown percentage (touchdowns ÷ attempts) × 20; interception percentage 2.375 − (interceptions ÷ attempts) × 25. Rating = ((a + b + c + d) ÷ 6) × 100, on a 0–158.3 scale. 20 of 30 for 250 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT is a strong afternoon.

NCAA, CFL, and some other leagues use different formulas. Completions cannot exceed attempts in a real line, but the formula still runs if they do.

Attempts: Pass attempts.

Completions: Completions.

Yards: Passing yards.

TD: Touchdown passes.

INT: Interceptions.

Rating: NFL passer rating.
