About this calculator

Use this calculator to write n as a product of primes, for example 84 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 7, and to see whether n itself is prime. A prime has only 1 and itself as positive divisors. 1 is neither prime nor composite here; start from 2.

Trial division peels off factors from 2 up to √n. n above 10¹² is refused. Powers are written as repeated factors (2 × 2), not as 2².

n: A positive integer at least 2.

Factors: Prime factorization, joined with ×.

Prime?: Prime if n has exactly one prime factor equal to n; otherwise composite.
